A well-balanced wine that showcases Barbera’s hallmark fine-grained tannins, rich fruit concentration, vibrant acidity and depth. The style is supple, elegant and highly approachable. Classic varietal characteristics—such as cherry aromas, naturally high acidity and medium tannins—are clearly expressed even within Japan’s growing conditions.
This 2017 vintage was the last Barbera produced as a single-varietal wine, with no mono-varietal bottlings made for the following 4 years until 2021. Released after bottle ageing, the 2017 displays excellent quality, where oak maturation harmoniously integrates with Barbera’s soft tannins, resulting in a refined and beautifully structured wine.
